A tool for interpreting data based on geodemographic segmentation It consists of a demographic database, digitized maps, and computer software. The main systems available are: ACORN - the first to be marketed, it has 56 neighbourhood types classified into 12 groups. Mosaic - identifies some 60 types of neighbourhood with a wide range of variables classified into 2 market groupings. Pinpoint - has many of the features of both ACORN and Mosaic but claims to offer greater discrimination by focusing on individual postal sectors and so targets potential customers more closely. This system has 60 neighbourhood types, which are aggregated to 25, and finally reduced to 12 main types.
